A VERY FEW WORDS ON MIRROR TO NATURE

Sometimes, with wind and rain, even the main channel of Wilson Creek gets too choppy to enjoy. On those days, we often tuck into the narrow channel at Wilson Farms, which somehow manages to stay out of the wind, if not the rain.

It’s not the main channel, and it’s not the Ware River, but it shares the same life. I mention the kingfisher and the eagle here, but in later poems, you’ll hear about egrets and even dolphins in the narrow channel.

In that way, Wilson Farms is a mirror to nature. The earth, nature, changes through the millenniums, but it has endured far longer than we have wandered through it.

And I suspect it will endure long after we have ended our wanderings.
